A Little House @ the Lakes is situated next to Langvlei, 7km out of Wilderness towards Knysna. You will feel part of nature in this tranquil setting. The Knysna Loerie and Fish Eagle will wake you in the morning and if you look out over the lake, you will see the sun rise over the mountains.

Wilderness National Park

Across the road is the national park with all that is offered. To the east of the house (1200m) it the one of the best bird hides in the area – the Malachite. You can take your binoculars and a cup of coffee and spend a morning watching water birds. To the west is the Duiwerivier with two hiking trails  - one leads to a waterfall where one can enjoy a picnic and the forest. Island Lake with all it’s water sports and fishing is only 3 min drive. The Outeniquq Choo-Choo (Stream Train) steams past the house 4 times a day (except Sundays) and you will be able to see the coals burning and smell the smoke!

 Beaches & shopping

The beaches are only 5-15 min drive. Depending on where you want to swim. Swartvlei (Sedgefield) and Victoria Bay are very close and we often swim there if you get tired of Wilderness’s beach. The Pick’nPay in George is only 20km’s (20min) no robots and only one stop street from the house to there.

It is only 30 min from Knysna and an hour from Oudshoorn. So you can explore the Garden Route from your location. We are willing to assist with travel plans in the area (e.g Oudshoorn)
